Marlee almost walked away with the title of Celebrity Apprentice this year, but lost in the finale to country star, John Rich. So what’s up for her next?

Marlee Matlin is the youngest woman, and only deaf actress, to win an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, which she nabbed at the age of 21 for her role in Children of a Lesser God. And her disability has done anything but hinder her success — she has been in countless films and appeared in TV shows from CSI: NY to The West Wing to Dancing with the Stars!

Marlee married police officer Kevin Grandalski in 1993 and the couple has four children, Sarah Rose, 15, Brandon Joseph, 10, Tyler Daniel, 9, and Isabelle Jane, 7. She raised them all using sign language.

“Marriage is a commitment that my husband and I do not take lightly. We work at it. We also work at being a family and we always make sure that one of us is with the kids at all times, rather than throwing them to nannies or sitters,” Marlee tells Babble.com. “I had plenty of time to make sure Kevin was the right man for me and I know he did the same. Family is number one for both of us, and though we know that work is a big part of our lives we do our best to balance both. I think we’ve done it pretty well!”
