The August 22 episode was all about building — and yes, Kate Gosselin used a hammer.
While men come to build and install the family a treehouse, Kate and her eight clean out the barn, and you know what that means — lots and lots of chicken poop! But tidying bird doodie wasn’t all Kate did — she actually constructed a new area for the Gosselin’s baby chicks to live in, which required wood, nails and a hammer. We’ve never seen Kate do ANYTHING like this — and it was quite amusing.
“My first carpentry job of life,” Kate tells Mady, before adding, “all of life’s frustrations right here,” while she began pounding the wood into the ground. Was she wishing that piece of wood was Jon Gosselin face? Were assuming so.
“I didn’t even know she knew how to use a drill!” Mady confessed in her on-camera interview. (Yeah Mady, neither did we!)
While Kate’s busy in the barn, the boys — Collin, Joel and Aiden — head to check on the status of their treehouse and help the workers out a bit before being called in for ice cream and bedtime. I must say, those boys take after their dad — always working on a project.
The next day, the chicks arrive and Kate lets the kids meet them before coming up with the brilliant idea to build a door from scratch. Lets just say, it was pretty entertaining to watch her hammer away for hours, sweating up a storm. She thought so too, considering she had the kids take a picture of her working, saying, she would never do this kind of work again. Thank God!
“She never built anything in her whole life,” Collin says. “That’s bizerk!” Kate says as she admires her barn door. “I’ve spent more time in this barn than I’ve ever desired.”
Once the kids try to give an long explanation of how chicks are born, we finally get to see the finished treehouse, which is literally a mini house in a tree. We’re sure the eight Gosselettes will have the best time climbing around and exploring!
“It’s really big and their a swing and there’s a loft,” Leah says. “It’s probably like a 1,000 stairs to get up!” Collin adds.
But the kiddies better watch out, Kate says she’s moving in!

Watched the show, BORING! Kate looks very unhealthy, she looks like a large boned woman who has gotten too thin. And her face looks like shoe leather Her stress level has only begun, now facing living in the real world. Then in a few years she will have a house of mouthy teenagers and speaking from experience teen problems are extremely stressful. And usually cost alot of money. I’m pretty sure the Silver Fox will be there right by her side.
