A source close to Kate tells us that the mom-of-eight feels blindsided with TLC’s decision and she’s very ‘depressed’!
Kate Gosselin might sound upbeat on Twitter but a source tells us the reality star feels lost! HollyBaby.com has just learned that the Kate Plus 8 star is very upset over the cancellation of her reality show and she basically discovered it at the same time as the rest of the world.
“Kate didn’t even learn about the cancellation from TLC until a few minutes before the story broke,” our source says. “Kate is devastated. She had no idea that her show was going to be cancelled, she thought this was something they’d film on and off until the kids went to college.”
A source close to the show echoes the same thing: “Kate thought the show would go on forever, she expected it to.”
TLC released the following statement: “By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”
Ratings for Kate’s show had hit below the 1 million mark in recent weeks. We’re not sure what Kate’s next move should be and neither is she: “Kate doesn’t know what she’s going to do, she’s getting lots of offers but hasn’t settled on anything.”

I find it really hard to believe that she is fielding a lot of offers. Sounds like wishful thinking. People tuned in to see the kids for the most part, not Kate the whining narcissist. Most of the public dislike her intensely so other than the shock value of having her on a talk show for example, they wouldn’t keep her around long term because her caustic personality drives viewers away. Also, when she did co-host on The View, she was completely wooden and contributed nothing other that making comments bashing Jon. I think we have all heard just about enough of that. If Kate really though her show would continue until the kids went to university it tells me two things. One, that she has made no real plans to provide for her children other than exploiting them and making them earn their own keep to provide her with the lifestyle that she now feels entitled to and two, she is even more deluded and arrogant than I could have ever imagined.
