In a new interview Jennifer finally responds to reports that she’s not just dating Ben but that she’s chasing him too!
Jennifer Love Hewitt wants to clear up the rumors about her so-called date with Ben Flajnik. Sure she went crazy tweeting about the the unlucky lover that Bachelorette Ashley Hebert let go on the season finale, but Jennifer claims that she didn’t set up a date with Ben. They were just in the same place at the same time when they ran into each other at the Lion’s Pub in San Francisco.
“We did meet, but totally by coincidence,” Jennifer told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Aug. 17. “Everyone’s taking this out of proportion.”
Jennifer added that she wasn’t making a play for Ben when she tweeted at him after he got eliminated on The Bachelorette. “I was looking for something pop culture to tweet about,” she said. “I’m new to the Twitter situation. I wanted to have fun with the tweeters out there in the world.”
“I sent out funny tweets about Ben F. … then it got blown out of proportion [and] now the rumor mill is crazy,” Jennifer affirmed. “I have nothing to say except I’m totally single!”
Jennifer doesn’t understand why interest in this situation has blown up. “I don’t know why people are making so much of a big deal,” she noted. “It was timely.”
