Why fly first class, or ride in a chauffeur-driven limo when you can glide through the British countryside in your VERY OWN train?
And that’s exactly what Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their six kids did today, August 16, to make the five hour, 350 mile journey from London to Glasgow, where Brad will be shooting his new movie World War Z this week. Talk about a road trip!
Surrounded by an entourage of bodyguards and nannies, the family arrived at Euston Station in London on this morning, but rather than hopping on a scheduled trip to Scotland’s second city — they were steered to a special platform where a private Virgin train was waiting to whisk them off — non-stop — to Glasgow.
Five hours later, Brad & Angie Plus 6 disembarked in the heart of the city, which — thanks to a little Hollywood magic — is being turned into Philadelphia for the zombie movie.
A spokersperson for Virgin, who provided Brangelina with the train, confirms to the Daily Mail, “As far as I am aware, Brad and Angelina hired the whole train. It is a bespoke service so prices would vary on the individual, people have different needs from station requirements to catering.”
Virgin wouldn’t tell us how much Brad and Angelina paid for the train, but a rival company gave HollyBaby.com a quote of $41,000 for a one-way trip from London to Glasgow — not including catering or the cost of sending the train back to London!
The luxurious and very private journey kicks off the Scottish leg of Brangelina’s summer tour of the UK. They set up temporary home earlier this summer in the leafy London suburb of Richmond, and Brad has commuted by helicopter to the Cornwall set of the sci-fi film.
Maddox, 10, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 3-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne have had an amazing time taking in everything London has to offer; heading out on shopping sprees with their mom and seeing West End shows and puppet performances.
We can’t wait to see what they get up to in Scotland!
