Throwing around the ‘L’ word is a big deal. Selena Gomez has clearly decided how she feels about boyfriend Justin Bieber – admitting her love for her younger man during a recent radio interview. But can revealing this kind of emotion before knowing it’s reciprocated be detrimental for a relationship?The 19-year-old starlet recently raved to Omaha radio station Channel 94.1 FM about her 17-year-old boyfriend.
“That kid’s amazing,” she said. “I love Bieber so I could talk all about him all day. Everyone thinks I’m a cougar!”
Although she didn’t outright say she was “in love” with her man, the brunette beauty should still be careful with her word choice. If you use the “l” word before a guy does, he could get freaked out and run away because he thinks you’re feeling too much too soon.
For those of you who protest, ‘But I’ve said first and we’re still together’, you are the exception, not the rule. Meaning: you’re a specialized case and you got lucky. Let the guy be the aggressor, and let him reveal his true feelings first.
Trust me: it usually takes men a little longer than it takes women to fall in love, so let them discover how they feel at their own speed.
