Robert Pattinson Says: Edward & Jacob's Friendship Could Never Work In Real Life Because They're In Love With The Same Girl!

Rob reveals that in ‘Breaking Dawn’ Bella and Jacob have more chemistry than ever — and Edward allows it to happen!

Robert Pattinson‘s Twilight character may be dreamy but according to Rob, he has no backbone. Rob tells Entertainment Weekly that despite a marriage, sex filled night and the birth of their baby — Jacob still causes problems between him and Bella in Breaking Dawn: Part 1!

Rob admits that at times Edward comes across as very passive and what he describes as a “pu**y!” In particular, Bella and Edward’s highly anticipated wedding scene gets overshadowed by Jacob’s eternal obsession with Bella.

“I don’t want him to look like an idiot,” Rob says. “There’s certain things … like when Jacob grabs her arms and won’t let go. And that’s at our wedding, before I’ve even danced with her! If that was reality, being a good man at that moment is going up and kicking the guy’s ass so hard that he won’t come back.”

But it doesn’t end there, Rob says even when Bella is sick, Jacob still comes to try and woo Bella — but he doesn’t stand up to him.

“I’m sitting next to you [Kristen] and I’m like, ‘My wife is dying. I have completely f**ked my life up and hers,’ and Jacob’s like (to Bella), ‘Hey, baby, you don’t look too bad to me,’” Rob says. “And I’m just sitting there, like, with a bucket collecting (Bella’s) vomit.”

Rob finds Edward to be frustrating, almost “funny” with how he just allows Jacob to walk all over him — even at his own wedding!

“That was one of the funniest things as well, leading Bella (out to dance with Jacob),” Rob says. “Edward is an incredibly strange character, the more I think about it. That was one of those things that I had absolutely no idea how to play.”

But Rob reveals why Edward might be letting Jacob think he has Bella’s heart.

“Edward has a lot more foresight than the average person, which is one of the most heroic things about him,” Rob says. “He also knows he’s going to turn her into a vampire, so it’s like, “You’re going to be screwed in a couple of weeks, buddy! Try and hit on her all you want!”

No I don’t think Jacob & Edward could possibly be friends in real life.

There are a lot of things about the story that had me wondering. Like, Edward is what, 107 years old when they meet, and Bella is 17. Even though Edward is physically 17, emotionally would he not want someone older than 17, who has lived a little bit? Even though Bella is mature for her age, she’s only 17. And wouldn’t Bella want someone a bit more her own age?

And the Jacob thing – I never got why Edward put up it. I agree with Rob, Edward is kind of wimpy in that regard. And what’s with Bella? If she loved Edward so much, why did she have this insatiable need for Jacob? It doesn’t make sense.

And then there is the whole baby imprinting thing – I’m not even going to go there – it’s too weird.

What I wonder is, how did Stephanie Myers get away with all this? There are some authors (Stephen King, Anne Rice) for example who had issues with her stories and her writing. While I thought she told an interesting story, there were a lot of inconsistencies that were annoying.
