New mommy Kate just wants to enjoy her time with baby boy ‘Bing’ before diving in to wedding planning: ‘One thing at a time!’ Is she doing the right thing by waiting?
Kate Hudson has always been a free-spirit, and motherhood isn’t changing that! The actress, 32, who gave birth to her second child, Bingham ‘Bing’ Hawn a month ago, is in no rush to walk down the aisle with fiance and baby daddy Matt Bellamy. It’s baby steps for the Bellamy brood!
“One thing at a time. We’ll say hello to our new one and enjoy that for a while,” Kate tells Elle magazine in a new interview. (BTW: How gorgeous does she look in this photo?)
Like a lot of her former men, Matt, the frontman for English rock band Muse, is constantly traveling and with the new baby, Kate’s more concerned with balancing everything than rushing to the altar.
“Most relationships I’ve had in my life have been with people who travel quite a bit for work,” says Kate, who spoke to Elle about a month before giving birth. “I don’t know if I’m attracted to that specifically, but it is nice to be with somebody who understands having to be on the move.”
And while Matt is on the move, Kate plans to stay put for a while in London, where her family plans to reside. Although she would love to dive right back into work, she knows she needs to keep her priorities straight.
Logistics are “definitely getting harder,” Kate admits. “You have to think about things like, “Where is it? How long is it going to keep me away from my family? But, you know, life moves on. I would never want to be someone who complains and goes, ‘Oh my God, my life is so crazy,’ she adds. “If you make the best of it, it can be amazing.”
Kate simply hopes she can do “as good of a job” as her actress mom Goldie Hawn did raising her and her brother in Hollywood.
“We’ve definitely had lots of talks about parenting and being a working mom,” admits Kate, who adds that her mother was never “preachy.”
“My parents allowed my brother and I to have our freedom and be ourselves and feel confident in our choices,” she says, “and to make mistakes without too much judgment.”
Kate hopes to do the same for her sons Ryder, 7, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and 4-week-old Bing.
