New reports are flooding out this week that Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend Miami Dolphins’ football player, Reggie Bush, is desperately trying to reach her and convince her to call off the wedding.
Reggie apparently has realized as Kim‘s August 20th wedding date draws closer that he’s about to lose the love of his life. He’s been texting her and has enlisted a friend to tell her that he needs to talk, according to a source for Life & Style magazine. “He was begging her to call off the wedding — and give him another chance.”
Now, anyone who has followed Kim Kardashian closely knows that Kim was totally, madly and deeply in love with Reggie Bush. She dated him from April 2007 until July 2009. Then spent all of season 4 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, mooning over Reggie after their split. She was so depressed about the breakup at one point that she could barely eat or leave her house.
Kim concluded on that season of the show that Reggie was the “ONE,” and was ecstatic when she reunited with him in October 2009. Of course, she was then devastated when Reggie blew it by flirting with a bevy of beauties at Robin Thicke‘s birthday party at 1OAK in NYC on March 17, 2010, and then a fed-up Kim, dumped him for good.
Or was it? Kim has moved on with basketball star Kris Humphries. The Vera Wang wedding dress has been designed, the invites have gone out, the two-part E! Wedding TV special is booked.
But that doesn’t mean that Reggie Bush shouldn’t try to win Kim’s heart back if he truly believes that she is making a terrible mistake by marrying the wrong man!
It happens! People do marry the wrong person. And people do cancel weddings on the eve of getting married. Julia Roberts did it to fiancé Kiefer Sutherland when she called off their wedding 3 days before the ceremony and then took off with a former boyfriend, Jason Patric.
Ben Affleck cancelled his Sept. 14 wedding to Jennifer Lopez in 2003 just as hundreds of friends and family were arriving for the over-the-top affair. Was it because, he knew he was secretly in love with his Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner, who is now his wife?
Movie history is full of hit films about women about to marry the wrong man — who are saved virtually at the alter … BY THEIR EXES!
Sweet Home Alabama, The Notebook, The Philadelphia Story, High Society, His Girl Friday, are just a few.
Then there are the films where a bride realizes she’s marrying the wrong man and should be marrying her good friend instead: Maid of Honor and Something Borrowed.
“These movies are so popular because they resonate with people’s real life experiences,” explains relationship expert Cooper Lawrence, from the Scott & Todd Show on WPLJ. “I know a woman who split with her boyfriend, he married someone else and he realized a week after the wedding that he had made a mistake. He divorced his wife and he’s now been married to my friend for 15 years.”
My point is that if Reggie Bush is truly sure about his feelings for Kim and he’s prepared to make the commitment to marry her , then he has to at least insist on Kim hearing him out. He has to try. After all, he and Kim have only one life and if she marries Kris and he’s the wrong man, it will be devastating for all three of them.
If however, Kim has moved on for good and she’s totally in love with Kris now, Reggie will have to accept her decision.
He’ll have to take comfort in his Kim Kardashian lookalike girlfriend, Melissa Molinaro, and make sure he doesn’t blow it with the next woman he falls in love with!
