The parents of Casey Anthony joined crowds at a memorial for their late granddaughter, at the site where her remains were discovered, on what would have been her sixth birthday.

George and Cindy Anthony were surprise attendees at the emotional service in Orlando, Florida. Casey Anthony, sill in hiding after her not guilty verdict on July 17, was a no show. Should she have showed up?

“This is the first time I’ve been here in so long. It’s hard to come here,” George Anthony told the Orlando Sentinel.

The crowd sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Caylee before releasing purple balloons — the tragic tot’s favorite color — into the Orlando night sky.

The event was organized by the charity group Bring Kids Home, who are raising money to build a lasting memorial for Caylee, whose body was discovered in December 2008 — six months after she went missing.

We wonder how Casey marked her daughter’s birthday — do you think she should have joined her parents, HollyMoms?
