The New Pregnancy Test That Lets You Find Out Your Baby's Sex After Just Seven Weeks! Would You Take It?

The blood test can be bought online for less than $300 and promises it’s more than 90 percent accurate!

It works by analyzing fetal DNA in the mother’s blood — giving a reading just weeks into the pregnancy! Do you think this is a good idea, HollyMoms?
The tests, made by a variety of manufacturers, have been on sale for several years — but their popularity was limited, because of questions marks over their accuracy.

But a new study by the American Medical Association reveals they DO work!

Dr. Diana Bianchi, executive director of the Mother Infant Research Institute at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, found the tests were 98.8 percent accurate at predicting a boy and 94.8 percent accurate at predicting a girl.

The results mean women may not need to have more invasive tests to discover if they’re expecting a boy or girl.

Not everyone is excited about the findings — some researchers are worried women may abuse the tests, and terminate a pregnancy if their baby isn’t the desired sex.

Dr. Mary Rosser, from the Montefiore Medical Center in New York warns, “What you have to consider is the ethics of this. If parents are using it to determine gender and then terminate the pregnancy based on that, that could be a problem.

“Remember, gender is not a disease.”

What do you think, HollyMoms? Good science, or a dangerous innovation?

no, waste of money. I found out the sex of my baby when I was 14 weeks. it would be pretty sick if people were using it to decide if they wanted to terminate due to the sex. there are a lot of sick people out there though.

no I wouldn’t take that test because it would be inconclusive and could lead to a miscarriage which is one of he most devastating things a couple can go through. why do you think at 15 or 16 weeks some moms refuse Amniosantisis especially if they’ve had a m/c previously even if their in the high risk group of over age 35

Did you not read the article? It’s a blood test. Since when does a blood test carry a risk of miscarriage? It’s not an amniocentisis.
