Nina Dobrev was hands down one of the most gorgeous actresses strutting down the Teen Choice Awards red carpet. We spoke to her hair and makeup artist so that you can get her exact look! See the exclusive details!
Nina’s look was one of classic Italian beauty. “The image we had of Nina was a beautiful Italian girl in the countryside. I wanted her to look innocent with a touch of sex appeal so I gave her a subtle glow on the face and did a disheveled matte black cat eye,” said Nina’s celebrity makeup artist, Kayleen McAdams. “I used a sheer matte product on her lips to achieve the nude dark peach shade.”
Now, let’s talk hair. The Vampire Diaries star’s hairstylist, Cervando Maldonado, explains the look, saying: “The look is inspired by Italian film sirens of the 1960’s.”
Get Nina’s Updo:
“To get the look start first with damp hair and spray Oscar Blandi Volume Spray on the roots through the top of the head, then apply Kerastase Nutri Sculp Mousse though out all ends. Blow dry hair with round brush – start in front and set with Velcro rollers for volume. For the rest of head, blow dry from nape to top and pin curl each section of hair after drying it securing it with duckbill clips.”
“After hair cools, take pins and rollers out. Leave the pieces around the face and take the rest of hair and brush it up into a sleek ponytail on the crown using a smooth bungee cord rubber band to secure. Center part and then pull front pieces back into ponytail and secure with bobby pins.”
