Arnold and Maria’s eldest opens up about her parents devastating separation and reveals how she’s dealt with all of the attention on her family. She sounds so mature!
Katherine Schwarzenegger sounds like one strong woman. The eldest daughter of Arnold Schwarznegger and Maria Shriver did a beautiful shoot for Harper’s Bazaar and even posed on a white horse, reminiscent of her dad Arnold’s white horse photo shoot for Vanity Fair with Annie Leibovitz. Katherine sat down for an interview about how she’s coping with her parent’s separation following the news of her father’s affair and subsequent love child. What’s her secret to dealing?
Retail therapy and Adele! “Oh! I’m obsessed with Adele. It’s the best emotional music,” said Katherine, “These past two months, I’m like, Bring it on, Adele.”
The oldest of four, Katherine reveals she’s closer to Maria than Arnold. “I’ve always been way closer to my mom. Even when I was little, I was glued to her all the time. I’m close to my dad, but they’re totally different kinds of relationships.”
In fact, Katherine says she’s in constant communication with her mother. “I talk to my mom about six times a day, and we constantly e-mail in between that,” she confessed. “People say that I’m her twin. I guess it would be the Kennedy genes; my cheekbones are coming out. We’ll be at the breakfast table and my mom will look over at me and say, ‘I see them!'”
Katherine is a rising senior at the University of Southern California and has already published a book, Rock What You’ve Got. She sounds like she has her priorities straight, despite the mess her father has made of their family, and we love how close she is to her mom!
