It looks like ‘Project Runway’ has taken a cue from ‘Top Chef’ and created it’s own spin-off that is no longer about finding new talent, but recycling the old. Oh and there’s no Heidi Klum!
Well I never quite got the appeal of watching contestants that were already deemed not good enough competing once again for the top spot, but I guess whether I like it or not Project Runway All Stars is coming at us full throttle. Click to read and find out who of the former contestants will be back!
The 13 contestants — Austin Scarlett, Kara Janx, Elisa Jimenez, Rami Kashou, Sweet P, Jerrell Scott, Kenley Collins, Gordana Gehlhausen, Anthony Williams, Mila Hermanovski, April Johnston, Michael Costello, and Mondo Guerra— will be competing for an exclusive designer’s boutique in select Neiman Marcus stores and on NeimanMarcus.com, $100,000 worth of technology and office space from HP & Intel, $100,000 cash prize from L’Oreal Paris, a feature spread and one-year assignment as guest editor for Marie Claire and a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.
This all sounds pretty similar to Project Runway to me so I guess the difference will be in the judging. Instead of our favorite Heidi Klum, they will have supermodel Angela Lindvall. Instead of Michael Kors there will be designer Isaac Mizrahi, instead of Nina Garcia they will have Marie Claire Editor-In-Chief Joanna Coles. Alright I guess none of that’s really any different either. Oh wait, instead of guest judges they will have one more permanent judge, designer Georgina Chapman.
Despite the lack of differences to the original Project Runway, I am sure I will be tuning in weekly to see the spats and sprawls as the 13 battle it out in crazy design challenges for the ultimate prize.
