honestly, i read this article and wondering if the author isn’t biased or something.

of course HP beat that crap.
but i do wonder, when i read this as if Twilight is world phenomenon or something. but i never see any ads/people talk about Twilight anywhere this year.

‘famous’ only in america i guess

This whole website is biased. They post 24/7 about Twilight, and like 3 days a year about Harry Potter.

Of Course they deserved it. They went all out, but when Twlight kisses, they seem shy and slowly make their way and it is just a little gentle kiss.

I am so sick of people thinking Twilight is SO much more successful than Harry Potter. Twilight is strictly romance fantasy, thats it and the actors in that don’t really deserve any of those awards, mostly because there fans just vote for them because they think that they have nice abs and good looks. Harry Potter is so much more of a phenomenon. It has everything in it to make something epic: action, adventure, mystery, horror, politics, comedy, and many other genres. Plus it has life lessons within it like: how to to live in a corrupt society, the value of friendship, how to confront fear in the face of adversity, and what they meaning of love and death mean. Plus, around these lessons the actors in it and the movies are 90% like they are in the books, so they deserve this award and every other award they get. I’d like to see Twilight get nominated for an Oscar or Bafta, most likely they won’t since only 40% critics who see the movie like it, while 90% of critics and people who see Harry Potter films love it.

Just chalk it off to ignorant, immature fans. Those fans who say that Twilight is more successful than Harry Potter are going by how the media portrays it. Everyone who knows Harry Potter and Twlight and what they’re all about know that the only thing Twilight really and truly has over us, as of August 11th, 2011 is that over the past 3 years, they won more fan-voted on awards than us, the Twilight movies are shown in 100 more theaters than us in the United States on average and that Robert Pattinson is always named “sexiest man alive” in sexy polls. Basically, that’s it. Twilight fans really need to do their research. It’s pathetic how stupid they make themselves look. Someone actually went on “yahoo answers” and asked people if Stephenie Meyer should sue JK Rowling because she “stole” Sirius Black from her character, “Jacob Black”, and that Sirius is a werewolf (A WEREWOLF?) like Jacob, etc… I know, I know… I have that same headache, too.

To me, I believe they do deserve the award. I mean everytime I watch the MTV movie awards from the past three years, it was always about twlight. Twlight is nothing compared from those past movies like Forrest Gump. People only watch twlight because of their bodies not the plot line. Also at least in Harry Potter you can actually hear what they are saying.

Ron and Hermione’s awesomely epic kiss takes place in Deathly Hallows Part 2, which just came out only a month ago. It will be nominated for the rest of the year’s fan-voted on awards, and throughout 2012.

Yes, one is an incredibly amazing series of films, the other is a joke for teenage girls with some of the worst performances of the generation. It deserves every award over Twilight.

Of course Twilight isn’t trying to compete with Harry Potter.
The fact the they’re bringing out a two-part film is just a complete coincidence because it’s so vital to the important and well thought out story line of the twatlight movies.

yes, twilight’s main objective is to copy Harry Potter, not make extra cash by doing an extra movie. That makes complete sense, thanks for clearing that up. lol

You have to admit that it’s just a little bit suspect that ten minutes after it was announced that DH would be split into two parts, Twilight goes ” Oh yeah! Yeah, us too! ”
Come on, Twilights’ a piss take.

To elaborate on the whole Eclipse thing-Eclipse came out June 2010, and it’s nominated right away for awards for the end of 2010 and still being nominated right now, over a year after it came out. You wanna talk unfair, that is unfair.

Winning fan-voted on awards doesn’t make a movie/franchise good. It means that that movie/franchise has really devoted fans. I’m not knocking the fact that Twilight has really devoted fans, you can see that. It’s just that Twilight’s fans only care about winning a couple of live-televised polls that nobody in Hollywood cares about than breaking box office records, getting good reviews, having Twilight win real awards or anything like that. Which, is really sad for America. I don’t know which is worse… The debt crisis overtaking our government or the fact that Twilight has been America’s newest flavor of the month/fad for the past 3 years. It really speaks volumes about our country. Harry Potter has much more fans that Twilight-you can see that by how many books have been sold, the box office numbers, how Harry Potter beats Twilight in EVERY SINGLE ONLINE POLL, etc… Face facts. Twilight’s fame is only centered in America. Internationally (including America), Harry Potter beats Twilight on the fan count.

Well said! Personally, I think women should be very strong-willed and independent. But what does Bella show? It seems that she can’t live on her own without her vampire. Girls are not like that. Unlike Hermione, she shows that Harry and Ron cannot survive without her because she is extremely intelligent and independent!
We should also look at the values shown in the films, and I believe films like Harry Potter and Narnia depict more values than other films.

That is so Right, Twilight only wins in America, Harry Potter is Bigger Internationally, hands down. In England Harry Potter is a Phenomenon and Twilgiht is a Glitch. Twilgiht was never heard of in the UK until the Films came out and plus Robert Pattinson was in it and there was alot of fans of Cedric, who Robert played in the 4th Harry Potter Film and was interested merely because he played Cedric in Harry Potter, and yes I was one of those people.
I did watch the first film in the Twilight series and never again, it was so bad, I’m never going to read the Twilgiht books and havent watched the other films, I’ve been advised that the Books are poorly written and that would make me annoyed because, because I actually Love literature and Harry Potter is written superbly, I Love how J K Rowling writes its like she actually makes the words come alive, its Brilliant.

Robert and kristen just rock… No one can beat them …..
Love robert and kristen… love em together ….. They both make an awesome pair…. an unforgettable pair

I’m an older adult Twilight fan who has also seen all the Harry Potter films. There is no way in the world that Daniel and Emma deserved this; when I think of romance these 2 will never come to mind. Personally, I don’t think HP will ever match up to Twilight but they are 2 completely different types of movies to begin with anyway. The only reason Harry Potter won so much was the fact that Eclipse came out over a year ago and DH Part 2 was just out this summer. And there was all the hype about this being the last movie in the series, etc. When you add in the fact that this was a younger voting audience who are more into wizards and magic than they are into what is a love story that is “Romeo and Juliet” simple at the same time that it’s complicated, who had the time to sit in front of thier PCs and vote and vote and vote over and over again, the explanation is really simple. People who think HP is so far ahead should consider the fact that has been on for 11 years and Twilight, whils just starting in Dec. 2009, has been holding its own with less movies and almost no special effects by comparison. While I have nothing against HP or the fans they should really enjoy this because when Breakind Dawn comes out on Nov. 18, Twilight is going to bury Harry Potter, and rightfully so.

You have nothing against HP but you still find a way to bash their fans? Has a twilight film ever beat an HP film in the box office? NO!!!! So why should this time be any different! If twilight fans actually believe that breaking dawn parts 1 or 2 (copied HP BTW) will gross over a BILLION dollars at the box office then they are more delusional than I originally thought. And the fact that you are an older woman is even sadder. I hope that I’m not that stupid when I reach your age!

Even the head of summit said while twilight is successful it will NEVER match up to the success of HP. Stephenie Meyer echoed his thoughts as well. Summit idolizes HP so much that they copied HP and broke BD into two parts (which is stupid)! Now if you think that Twilight is better than HP then why are they doing their best to try to emulate them?

Harry Potter is targeted to people of all ages while young children and old people USUALLY don’t watch Twilight. It is impossible for Twilight to reach a billion dollars, mind you. :-)

Strange…I’ve seen this same comment on two other websites, lol. I doubt Twilight will bury HP considering Deathly Hallows Part 2 is now the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time. But, yeah, good luck with that.

Agree!!! The lowest-earning HP film is Prisoner of Azkaban at top 32 while the highest-earning Twilight film is New Moon at top 44! They have to bury Prisoner of Azkaban first! LOL..

Thank u, i think u r the only reasonable person who has commented. I understand that twilight has won all of the other kiss awards and hp has won none but if u think about it there is prob a reason 4 that. And the hp fans are still excited about the big new movie that just premiered like not even a month ago so of course hp is gonna get more votes but that dosent mean that it is the better movie or franchise.

ok. first of all i agree with you about emma and daniel not being romacntic and a couple… but before you judge you should know why they kissed and thats when harry opened the locket and ron was to smasch it but it being a horcrux it defended itself by showing ron’s fears like hermione not loving him back or his mom prefering harry… oh and J.K. Rowlings books are way more famous than mayers.
unlike twilight harry potter isn’t a love story its “Harry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.”
— Stephen King
and it’s so true. now don’t get me wrong i have the twilight books and i’ve seen the movies mayer has a good idea but have you seen how many run-on sentences and the grammer is all wrong. twilight is big in american girls but it doesn’t have much appeal to males or internationally. whereas harry potter is. harry potter is great for people of all ages and imagine a 12 year old girl who just finished reading breaking dawn imagine, all teens being exposed to what she wrote in the book i know most teens already know about that but would you buy a book for your daugher that basically tells them that they can’t live without a boyfriend and to marry at 18? i think not.

Robert and Kristen win awards all the time for Best Kiss and it gets a little repetitive. There hadn’t really been a proper kiss in the Harry Potter movies until the Deathly Hallows Part I and it was something different and it was surprising and done well. Of course they deserved to win. Let Potter have its moment.

Omg! I can’t believe how this is fair?! I mean HP just make a big premiere, the movie just come out, obviously they gonna get more vote, and also this because of their last film so they get more vote? Look i’m not a robsten fan or anything, but i just feel like this is so unfair for twilight, breaking dawn even come out yet, HP just have a huge premiere, of course they will get more attention! Look, it only fair when both breaking dawn and HP come out at the same time, then you can actually judge fairly
