The second book from the bestselling ‘The Hunger Games’ trilogy already has a release date — and the first movie isn’t even finished filming! Plus there’s new pictures of Katniss and Peeta.

Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have their work cut out for them! The Hunger Games is still finishing up filming, with Steven Soderbergh recently joining as second-unit director, and producers already have their eye on the sequel! So when will the second movie, Catching Fire, come out? And have they decided when it will start filming?

November 22, 2013! Lionsgate issued a press release today announcing the film adaptation of the second book from Suzanne Collins‘ trilogy. Joe Drake, co-COO of Lionsgate said, “The magical thing about the Hunger Games trilogy is that the books have such a vastly broad appeal. The stories truly offer something for everyone, and the period around the Thanksgiving weekend is such an opportunity for families and friends to make an event of going to the movies.”

We spoke to two sources at Lionsgate who say Catching Fire does not even have a production calendar yet, and it’s unclear when filming will begin for the second movie.

The first movie, scheduled for release on March 23, 2012, is still in production. Lionsgate also released two new stills of Jennifer as Katniss with her trademark bow and arrows and Josh as Peeta all cut-up, presumably in the arena.
