Robert Pattinson Wins Choice Vampire At Teen Choice Awards -- Sorry, Ian Somerhalder :(

Yes, I’m so bummed over Ian’s loss that I actually used an emoticon in a headline.

I write this post with my tail truly between my legs. As much as I wanted The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder to win Choice Vampire at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, the obnoxiously large surf board unfortunately went to Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson.

So what went wrong for Ian? Here’s my take:

Vampire Diaries fans went hard with the voting, as always, but simply had too many choices. Ian got my hypothetical vote — apparently at 23 I’m no longer considered a “teen,” despite what my DVR says — but I do love me some Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley. Since each person can only cast one vote, fans simply couldn’t decide which of Mystic Falls’ fanged residents deserved the top honor.

Or maybe I’m just in denial.

And since nobody likes a sore loser, I tip my hat to Rob. The Twilight movies are huge, and more importantly, its fans are clearly loyal.

I should also note that Rob did a great job speaking on behalf of the “blood cancer awareness and education campaign,” Cancer Bites. For more information on that, go to http://www.cancerbites.tv.

ROBERT PATTINSON is the HOTTEST VAMPIRE in the Hollywood. He is also well known all over the world and he is always supported by his loyal fans. CONGRATULATIONS! You got it because you deserved it! TWO THUMS UP! :)

TVD cast are only famous at the US while Robert Pattinson has millions of fans all arround the world… It’s obvious why he’s ALWAYS the winner…

I’m scottish and my friends and I LOVE TVD- the show and the books, It ha a better storyline, and better characters than twilight any day!

hey I’m Asian and you probably never heard our country (Philippines) but I love TVD and I have friends who are hook to that show. We just didn’t know Ian’s nominated so :(. Still, congrats Robert Pattinson! But for me Ian all the way:)

Tottaly Agree with @Meli … ;) TVD is way much better than Twilight .. and yeah .. I’ve read the books and seen the movies too … ;)

first off i was totally piss when Robert Pattinson won the Choice Vampire and here’s why…
1) The Vammpire Diaries is much better than the Twilight Sage, VD has blood, voilence, love, suspence, agust, comedy, it has everything. it doesnt really focus on only the love triangle like Twilight does. (And those TS fans, yes i see the movie and read the books)
2) The Vampire Diaries is more of the legendary vampire myth aka they BURN in the SUNLIGHT. i know the author of Twilight had it her way, with her imagination and i respect that but she could have kept some of the legenary things of a vampire.
3) Ian Somerhalder is (in my opinion) better looking than Robert Pattinson. Yes theres a big age difference but i think Robert should be embarred because he is younger than Ian but Ian had a better looking body than Robert.
and 4) one and most imporant fact on a vampire…THEY HAVE FANGS!!!!
But again both authors are unique in thier own way. i just hope next Teen Choice Award Ian will win a title of Choice Vampire.

Damon is a proven alcoholic in VD..always on the bottle to drown his sorry existence..and Ian is so far away from Hot . Stephan is the better Vampire…But in the end …all Vampires are not real…they act the way they were written by the person who came up with the story…so to all of you , stop judging …Robert is an international star….Ian is a TV Star with limited expose….Rob is 25..Ian 35 so there you go

.. and simply the fact that Robert is younger than Ian .. should make him better .. beautifulier than Ian .. but instead … we have a real-life alcoholic …after how he looks like … like he never made a shower in his life :))

SO SAD IAN DIDN,T WIN HIS VAMPIRE SO MUCH MORE AUTHENTIC TO WHAT A VAMPIRE SHOULD BE NEE,R MIND THERE,S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR AND I CAN KEEP WATCHING THE VAMP DIARIES FROM SEPT ONWARDS ON TV !!! GO IAN………!!!!!!!!!
