Mark Wahlberg joked with his his good friend Leo that they are no longer the reigning Hollywood heart throbs!
Leonardo Dicaprio and Mark Wahlberg may have been the hottest men in Hollywood in the ’90s, but now Mark has no problem admitting that they’ve been replaced. According to Us Magazine, Mark told the star-studded crowd at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 4 that Taylor Lautner is the new “it” boy in Tinseltown!
“I’m sitting at a table with a gentleman who is better looking than you and is in better shape than me. So, we’re both out of a job, dude. Taylor Lautner! We’re screwed,” said Mark to Leo.
The crowd of A-listers enjoyed Mark’s self-depricating humor and burst out in laughter at his joke. While we agree that Taylor is one of the hottest young stars on the big screen, we have a feeling Mark and Leo will always be two of the most handsome men in show business no matter how old they get!
That said, Mark admitted he has no problem accepting defeat and passing the torch onto the next generation of stars.
“It’s over, dude. Titanic and Boogie Nights were a long time ago. I accept it. I had a good run and on to the next,” he said.
The 19-year-old Twilight hunk was more than flattered by Mark’s complimentary toast, and said the experience was “surreal.” With Taylor’s killer abs and cover boy looks, it’s nice to know he is still humbled by his peers.
“It’s so odd. It’s such an honor. I’m up on the stage and talking in front of people like that? The people that I looked up to my entire life? Hearing words like that from Mark and everybody it’s just really surreal,” Taylor said to E! news after the toast.

Dicaprio and Wahlberg are great actors but it’s time to let the youngest to do the “show”. And Mark knows what he’s talking qbout, he’s right the new generation maybe will do better than theirs. Good luck to Taylor, he has potential and can be a great actor which he is let’s face it! Plus he’s very hot that’s not his fault lol!
