Kate Middleton may recycle outfits, but when it comes to hats she means business –and we’re obsessed with her latest headpiece!
At the wedding of Prince William‘s cousin Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall, the Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge opted for her 2006 Collette Dinnigan French lace dress and Day Birger et Mikkelsen brocade coat. She accessorized with a brand new Gina Foster bespoke hat — the $675 piece was custom-made for her!
Kate customized the natural straw coulis, called “Launceston Place,” just 10 days before the wedding. It was designed in a sculptural fashion with a flower fixed under the bow detailing.
“She wanted something in a color to match her outfit,” Foster told People magazine, “she had her outfit and her bag with her.”
The finished product was elegant and chic — maybe too much for a casual outing, but definitely perfect for a wedding.
We also hear that Kate showed up alone to her appointment and was only there for half an hour. She acted low-key and down to earth, leaving Foster and fellow shoppers to believe she’s a regular person and totally down to earth!

There is a thin headband that attaches to the hat. Its usually the color of your hair so it can easily be hidden. Smaller headpeices have are attached with a clip.
