Girl, 7, Laughed For Three Weeks Straight After Undergoing Life-Saving Cancer Surgery!

Doctors warned the brave little girl there would be side effects after the brain operation — but no one expected her to get the non-stop giggles!

Enna Stephens, 7, from Cleveland, England, underwent surgery in June to remove a malignant brain tumor. When she woke up she couldn’t stop laughing, for almost a month!

“We were told by doctors that most patients who have had a brain tumor removed often feel depressed afterwards, or can even be angry,” Enna’s mom Vana says.

“But Enna would giggle, she would giggle all the time.”

“It was so lovely to hear after everything she had been through.”

“It was so infectious and it was just a great way of releasing our emotions.”

The phenonemon is rare, but not unheard of. It even has a name – the Pseudobulbar effect — and it’s thought to be caused by the disruption of nerves during surgery.

Enna’s giggle fit has come to end, but she and her family have a real reason to smile — the operation was a success and doctors are confident there’s an 80 percent chance it won’t return!

What great news! Good luck Enna and get well soon!
