The new animated show is set to premiere next fall and producers promise it will ‘stay true to the original!’

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood immortalized itself as a culturally influential television show billed for “children and adults of all ages” — but many of today’s youth are not familiar with the truthful, loving, character of Mister Rogers.  But now, fans old and new will be glad to see the return of Mister Rogers in an upcoming animated series!

The spinoff, titled Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, will follow the four-year-old son of the timid, curious character, Daniel Striped Tiger.  The show again will take place in the “Neighborhood of Make Believe” and will also feature pre-school aged children of the show’s original characters.

Chief operating officer of The Fred Rogers Company Kevin Morrison says that the spinoff will remain true to the original version, keeping in classic elements that are unknown to today’s youth.  “In research, the trolley has become a very big character with the kids we’ve tested this with,” he said. “They’re three and four and have no clue what a trolley is but they like it and it plays a role in the Neighborhood.”

Be sure you HollyMoms are catching up with classic episodes of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood in time for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood 2012 premiere!
