The actress, who’s known to be a sex symbol, admits she ‘hates’ exercising. But she has a great tip for moms who are worried about their ‘loosey goosey’ postpartum bodies!
If you were to ask anyone for work out advice, it would probably be a Hollywood hottie like Jessica Alba. But to tell you the truth, the actress and soon-to-be mom of two admits she may love prenatal yoga, but she CAN’T STAND the gym. So how does she plan on getting her pre-baby body back?
“Working out everyday for even just 45 minutes is good for my mental state. But getting dressed and actually doing it is the worst,” Jessica, 30, admits to Lucky magazine in their September issue. “It’s hard to get motivated.”
“In the gym, I have like five things to distract me: TV, iPod, magazines. Working partners are good, too, so you can chat and not just drown in your own misery. Sorry, does that sound bad? I just hate working out.”
As for her meal plan after the baby, Jessica admits that’s not easy either. “I have a hard time with portion control, so I have 1,200 calorie meals delivered,” she reveals. “But I also work out, so basically I’m starving—it sucks. I drink a lot of water.”
So wait, if she hates working out and hates giving up food, how the heck does she drop the weight so fast? Well, it’s simple — A GIRDLE!
“I wear a girdle around my tummy from the moment I give birth until it doesn’t feel loosely goosey anymore—that takes a good two to three months,” Jessica says. “It’s spandex with Velcro.” (She recommends the Original Belly Bandit Post-Pregnancy Compression Belt, $45.95, DueMaternity.com).
Would you or did you wear a post-baby girdle like Jessica?

I loved the belly bandit! I am tiny (5’0 and 100 lbs) and after my first pregnancy I had a hard time getting my abs to heal back together. For my second pregnancy I bought two belly bandits so I could wear them all the time. They were great! I would lay on the floor and my husband would velcro me in tight. After 6 weeks my torso was so small that I sized right out of the XS and just wore regular Spanx. I was also doing Pilates three times per week.
