Andy Swift — you’re wrong. Ian Somerhalder will be the loser in Teen Choice’s fang-to-fang competition on Aug. 7.

The fans have been voting on Hollywoodlife.com and Rob has easily taken the lead. Just take a look at our poll results today. Fifty-one thousand, one hundred and eighty-eight votes have been cast so far and R-Patz has 52 % of those votes versus Ian‘s 42 percent.

While the voting is still open on Hollywoodlife, it’s clear that Rob’s fans feel that his ultra romantic and caring Edward is more “choice” than Ian’s tortured Damon.

And really how could Damon be a “choice” vampire when he has cold-bloodedly murdered numerous  innocent victims, whereas Edward has been raised as a “vegetarian” since his vampire birth.

Not only that. Damon is locked into an endless love/hate rivalry with his brother, Stefan, while Edward Cullen only has deep and abiding love for his adopted bros, Jasper and Emmett.

And what kind of a “choice” vampire is Ian’s Damon when he always covets his brother’s woman, whether it’s Katherine of Elena. Edward on the other hand has waited for his one true love for decades — Bella.

Then there’s the eye thing.Why does Damon emote in one way only — by smoldering with his bulging eyes. R-Patz’s Edward on the other hand specializes in the sexy saunter with his long, lean body. Aww!

Andy made the point that Damon has grown and developed over the show’s past two seasons and that is certainly true. He has rediscovered some of his humanity.

But Edward has grown too! While he has always respected humans, he has also learned to tolerate and begin to understand vampires most devoted enemy — the werewolves. He has even grown to like his chief rival for Bella’s heart — Jacob.

Furthermore, Edwards’s manners are impeccable. He is the only “choice” vampire to bring home to your parents. Damon simply can’t behave consistently enough to earn the trust of any parent.

Now as for the bodies — both vamps are pretty darn “choice.” This is probably where the competition is toughest. But here, I’d have to give extra points to Edward for sparkling in the sun. Bella finds it spellbinding and I’d have to agree — what says other-worldly more than full-on sparkling skin?

Match that Damon!
