Ryan defends Ashley saying, ‘People have to realize being ‘The Bachelorette’ is hard. And he claims that it was wrong of bad boy Bentley to prey on her!
Bachelorette Ashley Hebert may have broken Ryan Park‘s heart more than once, but he doesn’t hold it against her. Instead, Ryan chooses to defend Ashley. He thinks it’s horrible that people like Bentley Williams are attacking Ashley for her insecurities!
“People give their opinions and what not, but what people have to realize is being The Bachelorette is hard,” Ryan says during a conference call, July 28. “There’s consistent — so much scrutiny.”
Ryan knows that people are bound to see your flaws, especially when you star on The Bachelorette. “You have to be on everyday, all day long. I guess whatever flaws I humanly have or whatever — I get tendencies, if they’re even called flaws — are going to be magnified exponentially,” he explains. “It’s no secret that Ashley has — she’s just a normal girl that came from a small town and gets catapulted into the spotlight, and it’s no secret that yeah, she has insecurity and some of her self confidence can be somewhat low.”
“But it’s just unfortunate that she’s been attacked so badly for her insecurities and then the elephant in the room, Bentley, and how he preyed on that unfortunately,” he continues.
And even though Ryan didn’t end up with Ashley himself, he is happy that she has found someone to take care of her. “That’s why whoever ends up with her, whether it be J.P. [Rosebaum] or Ben [Flajnik], I believe that either one of those gentlemen will help make her feel stronger about herself,” he says.
Ryan’s glad that Ashley was The Bachelorette over any other girl. “I care for her deeply and I’m very happy it was her, so,” he shares.
