It was such a pleasure meeting Sara Bareilles before she opened for Sugarland at the Greek Theater July 26! She even dished about her charity before going on stage and wowing the crowd!

The energy was high at the Greek Theatre on Tuesday night, as a packed crowd of all ages partied to the tunes of Sara Bareilles and country music sensation, Sugarland.

American Idol Season 9 castoff, Casey James, provided the music for the beginning of the night as people flooded in with brews in their hands and boots on their feet. As James serenaded the audience, we had the pleasure of meeting the next act in her dressing room.

Fresh off a day spent working with kids at a music camp called the Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls in downtown LA, Sara shared heart-warming stories of the aspiring young musicians. The 31-year-old musician explained how she brought in her partners at Tone Body Wash to help continue the camp’s mission, and donated $10,000 to the cause.

With the clock ticking ‘til her time on stage, she showed no signs that she would soon be performing to an excited crowd of over 5,000 fans. Her laidback personality and style made it seem as though we had caught her on her way to hang out with close friends.

And that’s exactly what her set felt like. As she sang well-known hits like “Love Song” and “Gravity,” she talked to the audience about her backstabbing friends and boy problems, as though it was a one-on-one conversation at a coffee shop. Sara was the perfect opener for Sugarland, setting a low-key, yet high-energy mark on the night.
