'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Will Get To See Leah In Rehab -- Thanks To Gary Shirley!

Amber’s baby daddy worked hard to make sure the ‘no contact’ order against Amber was lifted so that he could fly out to California and reunite the troubled MTV star with her 2-year-old daughter.

Teen Mom Amber Portwood has spent the past few weeks in Seasons Recovery Center in California, where she is being treated for her depression, addiction and anger issues. But although she’s making amazing progress, Amber, 21, is homesick and desperately wants to see her 2-year-old daughter Leah, whom she’s been away from since her suicide attempt on June 14. And reportedly, her wish is coming true!

Her former fiance Gary Shirley petitioned to get the “no contact” order against Amber — which prevented her from being in the same room as him and Leah — lifted, and it worked. Now, he plans on flying out to California on July 28 with Leah for Family Week.

“Amber has emailed Gary and says she likes the feeling of being sober,” an insider tells Ok! Magazine. “Gary says it gives him hope that Amber really is a changed person, because he still loves her and he wants to bring their family back together.”

And although Gary is nervous that Amber will fall back into her old ways once she returns home to Anderson, Ind., he hopes that seeing Leah will give her the motivation to finish treatment and work that much harder on her recovery.

“Amber assures him she wants to start attending AA meetings [when she gets home],” the source adds. We hope she can get her act together, for the sake of Leah and Gary, who has done so much to support her.

Oh jeez. These teen moms need to get into school and get good careers going.

Amber makes me sick. She’s so fake on the show and whines about how bad she has it. Its a show and she puts NO effort into her child. She likes to abuse and then play the victim. I wonder if she knows how stupid she looks for lying to people while taping and then the truth exposes her dumb ass in the episode. TRASH.

Amber is not worth it for gary. All she does is blow up in his face for no reason at all. all you her from her in the show is gary do this and gary do that and gary you`re so annoying. just leave her.

If Amber want to stay clean and sober she needs to break all ties with Gary. Amber has issues to work through and Gary will throw her right back into her deep depression and addiction. Gary is a butt-hole and all he does is put Amber down, he nit picks until he get her all worked up. She needs to pay more attention to her baby, stop lying on her butt, dress and feed Leah and clean her house daily. WITHOUT GARY!

Gary is a man with a good heart. He’s trying to keep his family together and not take the easy way out. He’s not perfect of course, none of us are, but I admire him for being a good provider and trying to give his daughter a stable home with two parents. Amber just needs to get her anger under control and take parenting classes so that she can be a better mom to baby Leah. Oh, and a swear jar wouldn’t hurt either.

Gary seem to bring out the worst in Amber.

OH my, I hope Amber never gets custody of Leah. Amber would have to be in rehab longer then a few weeks for anything to sink in. She is so “I’m all that” and does not listen to ANYTHING. Oh I ache for the baby…if the parents can keep her then one may be assured that “we the people” will have another lost teen to raise when Leah is older. Surely someone with a degree or a degree of common sense can see this and help that child before it is too late.

I am so tired of Amber and Gary, they fight all the time and it is not good at all for little Leah. Amber has anger problems worse than Gary’s and she is not a good mom.

I don’t think Amber and Gary are good together. They seem to parent much better when co-parenting as two single people. I also hope that Amber takes her brother up on his offer to move her out by him so that she can focus on staying sober and stable for awhile and perhaps become the mom she needs to be for Leah. I think living back where she did she will be around too many bad influences. I wish her the best on her recovery, her daughter needs her.
