The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star talks about her raw and painful divorce to Russell Armstrong, whom she wed in 2005. She finally comes clean about the emotions she’s kept hidden for so long and how he would shove and throw things at her.
Taylor Armstrong had her troubled marriage thrust into the spotlight during the first season of Bravo’s hit reality show. Whilst the show caught some of their arguments, the reality was a darker story. Vulnerable Taylor, claimed she suffered verbal and physical abuse throughout her marriage, confessing to People Magazine that despite the glamorous facade portrayed on the show, she was constantly “walking on eggshells”.
She describes Russell’s explosive temper and his fits of jealousy and how this eventually escalated into physical violence. Taylor revealed how this included grabbing her, throwing objects at her, shoving her and pulling her hair. With Russell admitting that “Yes, maybe things happened in the heat of the moment” he also explains how the show had pushed them to their limits.
During filming of the shows second season Taylor realized it was time to end her marriage, not only for herself but for the sake of her daughter Kennedy, 5. Although still damaged and fragile, it is reported that Taylor hopes she and Russell can remain cordial in order to raise their daughter together.
Like so many other single moms, Taylor is unsure of what comes next but feels she needs to learn to love herself in order to prevent this happening in the future. We think that is a great first step!
