I’m so excited for new CW show ‘The Secret Circle’ to premiere on Sept. 15 and I can’t wait to see more of the love triangle that was such a prominent part of the book! The actor who plays Adam calls himself the ‘male Bella Swan’!
I’ve read and re-read The Secret Circle books more times than I could count. When I realized they were turning the three books into a TV series, following in the footsteps of The Vampire Diaries, also by L.J. Smith and executive produced by Kevin Williamson, I was excited but nervous. I’m one of those fans who hate when things deviate from the novels, and learning that Diana (played by the lovely Shelley Hennig) would be a brunette in the series, really bothered me. I mean, she’s supposed to be all golden and pure and lightness! Anyway, other than that, all of the previews that have been released, including the new ones from Comic-Con have me completely pumped for what looks like an intriguing TV show. The only thing I request is more Diana/Adam/Cassie please!
There’s nothing I love more than a good love triangle, and the one in The Secret Circle is nice and tormented. I mean how was Cassie (Britt Robertson) to know that the guy she would meet over the summer would end up being her future best friend and coven leader’s boyfriend since childhood? What’s a girl to do?
Thomas Dekker, the lucky guy who plays Adam in the series, likens himself to a male Bella Swan. “I’ve never seen the Twilight movies, but I’m in love with both girls, so it’s the same problem. I can’t decide!” he tells TV Guide.
I’m hoping that in the weeks leading up to the Sept. 15 premiere for this new CW show, we’ll see a trailer focusing a little bit on this love triangle, since the two girls in it are not rivals, but heartbreakingly enough, friends. And it seems like Thomas and Britt will have great chemistry, I mean hello water droplets floating in the air. Do you guys love the interactions between these three witches as much as I do?
