Amy’s family & friends — including Kelly Osbourne & Mark Ronson — are currently arriving for the service in London.
Amy Winehouse‘s ashes will be scattered today, July 26, following a private funeral service being held right now in Edgware, London. Along with Amy’s family, celebrity friends including Kelly Osbourne (honoring Amy with a beehive) and British DJ Mark Ronson, are mourning the singer, who died July 23.
Mark, a longtime friend of Amy’s, tweeted his sadness over her death July 23: “She was my musical soulmate & like a sister to me. this is one of the saddest days of my life.”
Also attending the service are Amy’s parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse, brother Alex, Bryan Adams and last boyfriend Reg Traviss.
Amy’s rep, Chris Goodman, told CNN the funeral would be “a small private event for a few friends and family,” and would not be open to the public.
The UK’s The Sun is reporting that Amy’s ashes will be scattered along with the ashes of her grandmother, Cynthia, who passed away in 2006 from lung cancer.
Carole King’s “So Far Away” played at the end of the funeral, the song a personal favorite of Amy’s, as her father urged those in attendance to sing along. Her father delivered a eulogy that was both touching and funny, closing with; “Goodnight my angel. Sleep tight. Mommy and Daddy love you ever so much.”
An autopsy was performed July 25, but did not determine the cause of death. It could take up to four weeks for toxicology results to come in.
