Arnold Schwarzenegger refiled his response to Maria Shriver‘s divorce petition, reports TMZ. Now, he’s being a lot nicer and he’s agreeing to pay spousal support and Maria’s attorney fees. So why didn’t he do this in the first place? Is he responding to public backlash? Was he feeling pressured to do the right thing? Arnold also tweeted about his son Christopher saying he’s doing “much better.”
“Thanks for all your support for Christopher. It means a lot to me & to him. He’s doing much better & we’ll have him back at full speed soon,” Arnold wrote on his Twitter account. People were appalled to hear that Arnold served Maria his divorce papers while she was helping Christopher recover from his surfing injury in Malibu that put him in the ICU. But he is claiming it was all misunderstanding.
TMZ‘s source says Arnold signed the legal documents without reading them, and was unaware his lawyer denied Maria’s request for spousal support and her attorney fees. It’s unclear whether this was actually true, or whether the public outcry changed Arnold’s mind. Whatever the case, we’re glad he’s giving Maria what she rightfully deserves!
Arnold, who also visited Christopher while he was in the hospital, has been trying to spend quality time with his family after his love child scandal.
Hopefully there will not be anymore “miscommunications” as the family tries to piece everything together and Maria secures her divorce with Arnold.
