Amy Winehouse‘s death on July 23 was a tragedy, but she is just the latest in an eerie group of stars who lost their lives too soon after being burdened with substance abuse.
This phenomenon, referred to as the ’27 Club,’ started when several pioneering musicians died at that same age. This includes such hitmakers and innovators as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones and later Kurt Cobain. Amy is just the latest to have met her untimely death at this age and be inducted into this tragic group.

Amy was an amazing singer and behind it all she was a sweet and caring person.. in her song “rehab” she says “i dont ever wanna drink again i just need a friend” and that really saddens me because i wish i could go back and be her friend or give her advice, it might not have changed much, but at least she would be certain someone cared.. RIP, Amy, you will be forever remembered <3
