Robert Pattinson called girlfriend Kristen Stewart a ‘nerd’ at Comic-Con. Should you take offense?
All couples have their nicknames for one another, but I’m pretty sure most people don’t refer to their other halves as ‘nerd’, ‘geek’ or ‘dexter.’ However, most people aren’t Robert Pattinson, who referred to girlfriend Kristen Stewart as a ‘nerd’ at Comic-Con July 21. Should you be insulted if you were K-Stew?
The 25-year-old British heartthrob quickly piped up, “I wouldn’t say Kristen is nerdy. Kristen literally … she’s a cooking fan. She’s a nerd when it comes to cooking.”
There’s no two ways about this: Rob meant ‘nerd’ as a term of affection and, to be fair, he didn’t exactly call her a nerd, he implied that her passion and enthusiasm for something she enjoyed — food — was over the top.
Dare I say it? K-Stew is lucky to have a man like Rob! Covet your man referring to you by a similar term of endearment.
If you want proof that his comment wasn’t meant to be bad-natured, the two were actually more affectionate at a public event yesterday than they’ve practically ever been.
Kristen, 21, showed us at last that R-Patz is more than simply just a friend by embracing him from the side and leaning into him on the Comic-Con carpet.
These gorgeous Twilighters have found the perfect balance of chemistry and friendship; we should all strive for a relationship like theirs.
