The one-hit wonder talks trash about Biebs, but I will stick up for the pint-sized prodigy!
Justin Bieber is a pretty perfect human being, but a once-famous rapper has turned up with a pathetic attack at the Biebs — and he couldn’t be more wrong!
Vanilla Ice, 43, does not exactly have his finger on the pulse of popular culture, but he’s come out swinging at Justin, 17. And he has some grumpy unsolicited career advice to share, The Huffington Post reports.
“I mean, I did ‘Ice Ice Baby’ when I was 16. So I can kind of relate a bit,” Vanilla says. “Sold over a hundred million records. And I had a weekend that lasted about three years, and I didn’t know who I was, what’s my purpose in life. So my prediction about Bieber is that he’s going to go through one of those weekends that lasts a few years because he’s had such success as a child act. You know, then something else new will come along and he’ll be forgotten and he can try to put all the pieces back together, so it’s going to be entertaining to watch.”
This is pretty big talk for a man whose rhymes have been called “more clunky than funky” and “stupid, exploitative [and] derivative.” Could your career troubles stem from the fact you were gimmicky, not talented and hit with a novelty song people now enjoy ironically? You are a joke, and the fact you take yourself so seriously makes me feel more more nausea than pity for you.
Justin is popular because his music is indelible and he’s tapped into the psyche of his loving audience. He is true to himself and never pandered to his fans — they just like him because he’s a great guy. Meanwhile, Vanilla, your new album features gems with titles such as “Cadillac Ninjas” and “Nightmare Disco.” We’re sure your dozens of fans will be thrilled to listen!
