Lamar Odom was involved in a crash that ended up killing a 15-year-old boy, and sadly an eyewitness says all of the people gathered around Lamar trying to take pictures of him rather than helping the injured teen! Poor Lamar, he must feel awful.
Lamar Odom was devastated and seen crying at the scene of an accident involving his SUV driver, a motorcyclist, and a 15-year-old boy on a scooter who died as a result of the crash. But, as the NY Daily News reports, bystanders weren’t interested in helping the teen laying on the Queens street. Instead, they crowded around Lamar asking for pictures and ignoring poor Awsaf Islam.
“Everybody was paying attention to [Lamar]. Nobody cared about the kid,” said eyewitness Adolfo Ramirez, 13. “It was messed up,” witness Naldo Vasquez, 15, said. “They got excited and were asking to take photos with him.”
A motorcyclist clipped the Cadillac Escalade Lamar was riding in on July 14, on the way to his cousin’s funeral. The motorcycle then spun out and hit Awsaf while he was riding his scooter. Awsaf was taken to the hospital and then subsequently died on Friday.
This entire story is so tragic, made even more so by news people were focusing on the celebrity in the accident and not the injured child. This, of course, is not Lamar’s fault in anyway but he must be carrying this around with him. How devastating! What do you think of the whole matter?
