When it comes to booking a trip, one of the hardest things is trying to locate a chic, yet moderately priced hotel — luckily I’ve found just the place for your next Big Apple getaway!
Everyone wants different things out of their hotel experience. Three things I refuse to budge on are: location, quality of the room, and the all around “it” factor. Now the first two are generally easy to nail down but the “it” factor? To me, that’s a contempary yet comfortable hotel that exposes you to things you didn’t even know you wanted or needed!
The W Hotel New York gave me all of this and more. Why you may ask? From the moment I checked into the hotel, the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. I was escorted to my room and the dimly lit and incredibly chic hallway leading to my room had me tingling with excitement! The journey to my room was a bit deceiving because my suite couldn’t have been more opposite. The room was flooded with light streaming in from my private terrace (yes private people!) and the purple throw pillows and modern artwork had my senses in overdrive!
Not only were there two Bliss Spa goody bags waiting for me to indulge myself in a nice long bath, but a cheese plate — it was like the W Hotel staff knew exactly what a NYC girl needed to unwind. I couldn’t help but feel like a spoiled Kim Kardashian.
The bed was so comfortable that I didn’t even want to venture out into the streets of NYC during the day. The conceirge would come running at the drop of a hat, and the amenities were beyond five star.
When I needed a little pick-me-up, I ventured downstairs to the Whiskey Blue, and let’s just say their signature cocktails really hit the spot. Not to mention, cute boys everywhere!
I did say that location is incredibly important. I don’t think anyone should ever stay in Times Square, to me it’s overwhelming, loud, and just not my kind of New York. Not to say you shouldn’t visit, but the W Hotel on Lexington is located in Midtown East which is still centrally located but away from the hustle and bustle of fanny packs and Statue of Liberty keychains.
If I could do a “staycation” every weekend I would. But the next time you’re planning your Sex and The City meets Gossip Girl trip — check out the W New York. You won’t be disappointed!
