'The Hunger Games' First Official Poster Released — And It's On Fire! Do You Love It?

Lionsgate has FINALLY released the first official poster for ‘The Hunger Games’ and it’s a motion poster! It stays true to the symbols of the book and screams Katniss. What do you think, Tributes?

The Hunger Games fans, who have voted that they’d like to be called “Tributes”, have been anxiously awaiting the first official poster for the much-anticipated film and it’s finally here! The mockingjay pin, which Katniss wears as her District 12 symbol and eventually becomes a symbol for the revolution, is displayed, appearing from fire. Watch it in motion, after the jump!

Katniss, “The Girl On Fire”, was lit with fashionable flames along with Peeta in a parade before the first Game in book one of the trilogy. Cinna, her stylist, worked fire into her wardrobe constantly in the books and it is a very important symbol throughout the novels and Katniss’s rebellion.

The words “May the odds be ever in your favor” are a favorite line, used by Gale and Katniss to mock Effie Trinket, the escort for the District 12 tributes. She says this line at every Reaping.

We absolutely love the new poster, and think it shows Tributes that the movie is being very loyal to the Suzanne Collins novels. But we want to know — what do you guys think!?

The poster will be featured around Comic-Con this week. Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson and Lenny Kravitz are all featured in the upcoming movie which premieres on March 23, 2012.
