J.P. is Jewish, and Constantine is Greek Orthodox — but Ashley doesn’t focus on religion. Could religious differences mean the end with these two guys?
Ashley Hebert was super nervous to meet the families of the four remaining men — J.P. Rosenbaum, Constantine Tzortzis, Ben Flajnik and Ames Brown — during the July 18 episode of The Bachelorette. But one reason in particular had Ashley worried that rumored winner J.P.’s parents wouldn’t approve of her. In her personal People blog, Ashley admits that she feared J.P.’s religious background would make his family not like her!
“I was really nervous to meet JP’s family for a different reason than he probably thought,” Ashley confesses. “I was scared that they wouldn’t be pleased that I wasn’t Jewish.”
Religion doesn’t play a big part in Ashley’s life. “Religion does not matter to me,” she reveals. “But I had no idea how they felt about it, so I went into this date with nervousness on my shoulders.”
Thank goodness their different beliefs didn’t seem to matter to J.P.’s family. “What a relief!,” Ashley gushes. “His family was so supportive and sweet.”
J.P.’s mom was more concerned that Ashley might hurt her son. “They were very concerned about J.P. getting his heart broken,” says Ashley. “It became clear that he had a very emotional breakup that affected him greatly, and all they want is to see their son happy.”
But Ashley’s relationship with Constantine may actually be affected because of their religious differences. “I learned on this date that being Greek Orthodox was a huge part of [Constantine's] life,” shares Ashley. “I had never known religion to be that important to him, and it really took me by surprise that he never mentioned it to me.”
“I assume it was fear of dissimilarity,” notes Ashley. But “overall, my relationship with Constantine reached an incredible place on this hometown date.”

She looks so cute as a blonde. Dark hair seemed to accentuate features she’d have wanted to downplay.
