Heather Query left her sons, aged four and one, sealed in her car outside a store in Indianapolis, while temperatures soared towards 90 degrees outside.
When good Samaritan Heather Elliot tried to free the crying and screaming tots, she was brutally beaten by their fuming mom.Heather Query, 21 cried in court on Friday, July 15 as she pleaded not guilty to two counts of negligence and one count of battery.
The court heard how she yelled and punched Heather Elliot when she discovered her attempting to break the young kids out of the hot car.
Describing the incident, Elliot told reporters, “(One of the boys) was pushing against the window, just screaming bloody murder, just screaming, his face all red.
“She just slammed me right in the face, and I was just trying to push her back, and she just kept going and going.
“I could have not done anything and saw them on the news tonight. You don’t think twice about it. You just do it.
“(After her arrest) She (Query) said ‘I hope you’re happy with yourself and you can live with yourself, because I’m going to lose my job and my kids.’
“I said ‘good, I can live with myself because I just saved your kids‘.”
Defending his daughter, Query’s stepfather Andrew Gomez insists, “She made a mistake. She’s a 21-year-old girl. I’m kind of shocked at everything they put on the news. They’re making her out to be a monster, and she’s not a monster.”

The mistake was allowing this woman to breed. 21 and with two kids…one whose age leaves her presumably pregnant at 16? And she didn’t LEARN from that?! What kind of moron–young or not–leaves their kids? Let alone in a hot car. I am a teenaged parent myself, to a 20 month old. And I would NEVER, EVER leave my daughter. I don’t even take my eyes off her in our home. It disgusts me that people like this use age as an excuse….
