Obsessed Chris Brown fans waited two days, while others held up signs pledging their love for the R&B singer at this morning’s Today Show concert in midtown Manhattan.
HollywoodLife.com had a front row seat—make that a front-row standing room-only spot—to the hysteria. And, boy, were these fans—most of whom were female—jazzed about Chris: Many of the concert-goers even uncontrollably wept when he took to the stage!
One emotional female teenaged concert-goer admitted to HollywoodLife.com, “I’ve been waiting here since Wednesday night! I was so excited when he was finally onstage, I started crying!”
Other fans were just as smitten with Chris: Gushed one female teen fan to HollywoodLife.com: “He is very hot!” Chimed in a pre-teen, “I think he’s really cute!”
And the praise just continued: “I wish he performed more!” a concert-goer told HollywoodLife.com. Added another enthusiast: “His music is amazing, but watching him perform is a whole different thing!” Another female Chris aficionado raved, “That concert was good! It was really crowded, though!” Another fan, who busted a move to Chris’s tune, piped in, “I like his swag, he’s a really good singer and dancer.” One of the few male fans even said Chris “inspired me to do music.”
Rockefeller Center’s outdoor plaza was standing-room only, as the more than 18,000 fans jammed into the space. It was a sea of screaming, hysterical fans, many of whom crafted homemade signs declaring their love, support and eternal devotion to the singer. Signs were brandished with words of encouragement, support and unconditional love, such as “My heart only belongs to you, Chris Brown,” “I [heart] you CB!” and “Ill transform you Chris!”
When Chris opened the concert with his hit track “Forever,” we found ourselves lost in a sea of very loud fans, who were well-versed with the song’s lyrics, as the musically-inclined crowd chimed in and sang along with Chris, let alone showing off some fancy footwork. Those teenage fans can dance, wow! It was like a sardine can—but the energy was incredible and no one minded that we were stepping on each other’s toes—let alone, accidentally slamming flailing arms into each other.
And when he followed up with “Yeah 3x” and “She Ain’t You”—both songs from his F.A.M.E. album—the legions of female fans seemed to get even more energized, singing louder and dancing even harder!
And leave it to showman Chris to toy with concert-goers: Just when they thought he was done, he returned and dazzled us with his hit song “I Can Transform Ya!” Needless to say, the crowd roared with approval! They didn’t want him to leave!
Chris recently released his fourth album, F.A.M.E—which we love and are obsessed with—and it skyrocketed to the top of the charts: It debuted at number one in March, and was Chris’s first number-one album in the U.S.! Now my only question is: Do you do private gigs, Chris?
