Lucas says Ashley has the most fun with Ben the wine maker — ‘just living life to the fullest!’
Bachelorette Ashley Hebert said goodbye to good-looking Texan Lucas Daniels during the July 11 episode. Even though Lucas was shocked by his departure, he says in his exit interview he holds no hard feelings towards Ashley. Instead, Lucas thinks Ashley’s best bet is to give her final rose to Ben Flajnik, even though he thinks J.P. Rosenbaum stands a good chance.
“If I had to pick — I think she has the most, it’s not so serious with Ben F.,” confesses Lucas. “I think they have the most fun together. I mean, look at the guy. He is a good friend of mine on the show. I mean, wine maker, just living life to the fullest. I think it would be Ben F., if she had to pick anybody.”
Lucas says that Ashley will have a great hometown date with Ben’s family. “I think she’s going to have a wonderful time with Ben’s family,” he shares. “It’s just his sister and his mother, but you know they’re in Sonoma and he’s probably going to show her how to drink wine or how to make wine.”
And if Ben doesn’t get the final rose, Lucas thinks that ABC should give him a shot at The Bachelor instead of Ryan Park. “Ryan I guess would be a decent Bachelor. I mean those women better be very, very energetic and ready for, I don’t know, hopefully have a lot of Red Bull,” says Lucas. “But, I think a perfect candidate in my mind — just because he as a very good friend of mine, he’s a genuine gentleman — is Ben F.”
“If he had the opportunity, I think he’s wonderful,” continues Lucas. “He’s just a great guy. We got really close. He and Constantine [Tzortzis], we’re all good buds on the show. I think he’d be a great candidate.”

Ben F. would be a great choice. However, I think he’s different — and not in a healthy way — when he’s home and I don’t know if his rapport with Ashley is a strong enough antidote for that environment. It seemed as if most of the playfulness and joy had been leached out of him during their hometown date. I also think his sister will be a major pill to any woman he marries.

Ben’s sister will be a huge negative in his relationships with other women unless she lightens up and backs off. During the hometown visit, I got the sense that his home environment was quite depressing. Granted they had lost someone they all loved dearly, but to allow that to cast a pall over a potential family member was unhealthy.

Ben F is definitely my choice for the next Bachelor. Now that he’s out of his shell, I find him funny, entertaining, smart, and very handsome.
