Lea can sing and she sure has presence, but it was fantastic (sorry) to see her passed over for an Emmy nomination. But where is the love for Heather Morris?
Lea Michele is not having a great Thursday. It has just been announced the next season of Glee will be her last and now she has been passed over for an Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. The good news however? The incredibly deserving, and hysterical, Martha Plimpton and Melissa McCarthy scored noms in her place!
This is not to say Lea is not a great actress. She is amazing and has a wonderful voice, she is just not Emmy material. Especially this season where she took a bit more of a backseat. If Glee fans want to be outraged about anything, it should be the snubs of this season’s two MVPs, Heather Morris and Naya Rivera. Where’s the Brittany and Santana love Emmy voters?
Martha and Melissa will be up against holdovers Amy Poheler, Edie Falco and Tina Fey as well as perennial awards show nominee Laura Linney for The Big C. Personally, I would love to see Martha walk away with this. Raising Hope, which oddly enough follows Glee on Tuesdays, is one of the funniest and most underrated shows on television. Seriously folks, check it out.
And on another note, go Friday Night Lights!
