Is there a right or wrong time to say ‘I do’ in these modern times?
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt aren’t the most conventional of couples. They have six kids, three of whom are adopted, she clearly wears the pants and it would appear they don’t actually need friends because they have one another. They don’t seem like the type that needs a ring to make their relationship official. However, a new and legitimate report says they’re about to tie the knot. If they always intended to get married, should they have waited before having kids? Should you?
There have been umpteenth stories saying the pair have been ready to wed for years, practically since they started dating in 2005. But this claim from Us Weekly is far more legitimate. The magazine says that the two are considering walking down the aisle in order to make their family of eight even closer.
“They are talking about getting married this summer,” a source close to the couple says. “They are seriously considering it, but they may just do something on the fly, without any notice.” Another source confirms the details, saying, “They’re planning to do it in September.”
Adds a third pal, “Marrying at home will show the kids their mom and dad are committed to each other for the long term.”
So, the evidence suggests that Brad, 47, and Angelina, 36, may actually finally go through with the traditional concept of man and woman must marry when they are anything but the norm. Should they have waited to have natural-born daughter Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox?
OK, so it’s 2011. We don’t live in ancient times. Teen Mom is actually a culturally acceptable phenomenon. It is totally fine to have kids before marriage.
Everyone moves at their own speed and in their own way. Perhaps you’re more of a traditionalist or very religious: then you might want to have your big white wedding before you have kids. But — especially for those living in bit cities like New York or Los Angeles — it’s often quite normal to have kids before marriage or not get married at all, like Kate Hudson‘s mom, Goldie Hawn, and her life partner Kurt Russell.
There’s no right or wrong way to do things nowadays. As long as there’s love involved, the rest should fall into place whenever you please.
