Daniel Radcliffe’s time with ‘Harry Potter’ is , sadly for fans, coming to an end! The actor, famous for portraying the iconic wizard, was both sad and excited at the final film’s New York premiere!

Fans camped out for the entire week leading up to Monday’s New York City premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and celebs arrived in droves to celebrate the end of an era; however amidst the craziness, star Daniel Radcliffe said he was content saying goodbye to his wizard alter-ego.

NYmag.com reports that when asked if he was excited for the franchise (which spanned 8 movies and 10-years long) to be over, the 21-year-old actor replied: “Very.”

Currently starring on Broadway in How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Daniel is proving that he has more acting (and singing) chops than fans of the fantasy series may know.

Back in 2007, Daniel raised eyebrows for starring in Equus, a controversial Broadway play in which the lead character (played by Dan) is onstage naked. After fans and parents of younger fans seemed to object Daniel had to remind everyone that he is an actor, not Harry Potter.

“Ten years is long enough to spend with one character, and it’s been just a complete pleasure and a privilege, but I am ready to move on,” said Daniel. But despite his talk of moving on, co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint confirm that all of them cried on the last day of filming. What a bittersweet end!

As hard as reading the seventh book was, this final movie may be even harder to deal with! What do you think Hollywoodlifers…are you ready to say goodbye to Harry?
