Poor Kate! She’ll soon be going two months without her royal hubby as he finishes his helicopter pilot training.
As if Kate Middleton didn’t have enough to deal with as the newly crowned Duchess of Cambridge, she’ll soon be facing a whole new obstacle in her marriage — an extended separation from Prince William. It’s been reported that William has to finish his helicopter pilot training in the Falkland Isles, a process could take up to two months. “I don’t know how you manage,” Kate recently told the wife of a Marine Corps. pilot during the Royal Tour. “I miss William so much when he goes away.”
“He went once for four weeks and I missed him so much,” she admitted.
Well, Kate better get those tissues ready. William’s training in the Falkland Isles is rumored to be happening next year, and she’s fully aware she won’t be able to accompany him on his travels.
We guess even a princess — or duchess — isn’t immune to heartache.
HollywoodLifers, do you have any helpful tips for Kate as she prepares for her extended separation from William?

Some people seem rather confused about Kate’s title and status. She isn’t Princess Catherine and never will be, because she wasn’t born a royal, she has no royal blood. Diana was never Princess Diana, it was the media and public who called her that – her official title when married was Her Royal Highness The Princess Charles Philip Arthur George, Princess of Wales & Countess of Chester, Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Rothesay, Countess of Carrick, Baroness of Renfrew, Lady of the Isles, Princess of Scotland. (Some title!). No mention of her own name Diana in there anywhere. After her divorce she was Diana, Princess of Wales, but NOT Princess Diana.
Kate’s official title is Her Royal Highness Princess William Arthur Philip Louis, Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn, Baroness Carrickfergus. Again, no mention of her own name Catherine. If William eventually becomes Prince of Wales, Kate will have the same title as Diana had, with only a name change from Charles’s names to William’s. This is how it is until she is queen, when she will be Queen Catherine, although only a queen consort, ie because married to the reigning king, not a queen regnant (reigning queen) as the present Queen Elizabeth II who is queen in her own right.
It’s all a bit mystifying but that’s just the way it is. No one is being disrespectful when they refer to Kate as ‘Kate’ or even as ‘Kate Middleton’. She was going out with William for almost 10 years before they got married and so the public had learned to call her by her own name. After 10 years of referring to someone by their maiden name it’s hard to start calling them something completely different! Many people referred to Diana as Lady Diana until the day she died; there was no disrespect intended, it was more an affectionate thing, really. They first knew her as Lady Diana Spencer and they liked using her own name rather than her grander royal title. In any case, royal family members have to earn the respect of the public, something they do through their work. It isn’t automatically given just because they have a title, you know! Kate will earn respect as she takes on royal duties and gets involved in charities, these being the expected duties that come with being royal.
