LuAnn loves her friend, but also doesn’t appreciate it when Jill tries to ‘take over as [her] manager!’
During the July 7 episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps heads to the recording studio to listen to her new single and discuss the finishing touches on her song with the producer. Jill Zarin accompanies LuAnn to this meeting — only she takes it a bit too far and imparts her opinion when it’s not asked for.
After listening to the song one time through, LuAnn starts to brainstorm with the producer. “We’re still playing with that last part … ” Luann says, right before Jill interjects.
“The words are great, but I think if you are going for the club market, more dance,” Jill suggests. “It sounds like chorus, dance, chorus, dance — and maybe it should be dance, chorus, dance, chorus. I don’t know. I’m just saying I want to hear you sing, but I also want to be able to dance. I don’t want to dance over your singing.”
LuAnn gets a bit annoyed by Jill’s opinion. “I love Jill, and Jill loves to take over as my manager, but I don’t think Chris really wanted her advice on how to mix his music,” she tells the cameras.
The convo continues before the producer finally shuts Jill up, well only momentarily. “This is kind of like the radio version, you know?” he says. “I’ll tell you what the next step is though. We should do a video.”
LuAnn likes this idea. “A music video?” she smiles. “I think it would be really fun.”
“I’d like you guys to be in the music video,” she adds as she turns to Jill. “Wouldn’t that be a lot of fun?”
Jill’s blown away by this! “No!” she gasps in disbelief.
But that doesn’t last long because she’s right at it again planning the video. “I visualize a lot of diamonds,” she reveals. “I could introduce you to Jacob the Jeweler.”
