An insider shares that Chord wasn’t fired — he just hasn’t landed a regular role yet. Now he must decide if this is good enough for him to return!
Glee fans may just get to see the return of one of our favorite stars, Chord Overstreet. According to TVLine.com, Chord wasn’t fired — he just wasn’t given a promotion to become a regular on the show like his co-stars Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. Now it’s his decision if he wants to continue working on Glee. If he does, Chord will still have a recurring role.
“His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time,” an insider tells TVLine.com. “If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to Glee, and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins.”
And Chord’s character just needs time before he is offered a regular role. “If Chord has a great season, which we expect he will, then he will become a regular like Harry, possibly as early as January,” shares the source. Harry had to wait two years to get the full-time spot, so now Chord has to wait his turn.
