How do YOU feel about Charice Pempengco’s new music video for “Far As the Sky”?

Our girl Charice has released the music video for her song “Far as the Sky” — and it’s simple, classy and very open to interpretation! In the video, which was released July 6 through Warner Music Japan, the 19-year-old singer looks adorable in a fedora hat as she goes from singing the ballad in a small room, to various major cities around the world. What we love about “Far as the Sky” — which is going to be used as the theme song for a Japanese TV show called Bull Doctor — is how it feels like Charice is dedicating the song to her loyal fans. I’ll share my love to help you through the deepest night Far as the sky my love will blow away your pain no cries I am always here to sing To sing a song for you I am always here to sing To sing a song for you Charice could have easily included a boy in her video and had it center around a love story, but instead, she stayed solo and we appreciate that! Okay, Chasters…if you haven’t already, watch the video and then give us your thoughts below. (We can’t stand how they blocked comments under the vid on YouTube!)

The video is cheap. That’s not Charice’s fault. It’s Warner Japan’s fault.

The big cities sky as well as the busy ground view reinforced a fast paced life with modern technology in today’s world with Charice smack in the middle of everything. Yes, Charice now belongs to the world of entertainment with her unique beautiful voice. She looks young, fresh and beautiful. Love Charice. Thanks.

Charice and Japan, a dynamic duo in the music scene. With Charice’s powerful, melodic vocals and Japan’s simple put together video the message of hope and love hit me right in the heart. Expect nothing but the best from the Japanese and Charice! Thank you Kirstin, you are always there for Charice.

(We can’t stand how they blocked comments under the vid on YouTube!) <–Hahaha! I know!

Charice has been vocal about OneDay and Louder having music video, but this MV was unexpected and a surprise. We love it!

As for the song; it's for a TV show, and secondly, Charice always choose the lyrics (the message and inspiration) more than the melody if she had to make a choice between the two when making song selection. This song is inspirational and motivating!

Charice has an amazing voice. How the heck does she do that from such a tiny body? It’s too bad Warner Music Japan is only making the video available for 24 hours (well, only 6 hours remaining now), though I’m sure chasters will re-upload lol.

FYI “Far As the Sky” is originally written as a theme song for a Japanese TV Drama ‘Bull Doctor’ The producers luvs Charice kind of singing (powerful & can belt with emotions that goes with the shows dramatic scenes) & requested Charice to do just that. This was not intended as MV but a lil’ gift by Charice to her JPN fans for ‘Tanabata Day’ that falls on July 7th (yesterday in JPN). But due to clamor/request of Charice’s Japanese music fans WMJ gave way & released it. That shows you how huge Charice is in JPN. It has nothing to do with Aguilera nor Carey, get it Mickey!! You seems to have a personal issue with Charice’s success, go see a shrink to release that hatred in you!
Charice pls ignore the jelz crabs who keeps following you. You are a fabulous artist those 2 names can’t even touch you now!! haha.
Thanks Hollywoodlife for this neat write-up! :)

In light of the fact that this song was specifically created for a TV show, Charice did Great. Song creation for TV and albums will always differ from each other cuz there are different objectives at play, which in turn will affect the whole production process – this includes clarity on vocals, instrumentation etc.

Charice recorded Far As The Sky for a new Japanese TV series and the MV was released by Warner Music Japan for only a 24-hour limited viewing (so WMJ’s upload is expected to be end today), apparently as a gift from Charice to her fans who are celebrating “Tanabata”. As commented by a Japanese Chaster, the song is very much J-Pop as it is the theme song of a Japanese drama for TV. Japan loves Charice, and Charice loves Japan. In an interview Charice said the words of this song are for the Japanese especially since they are going through difficult times right now.

Would’ve been better if Crescent Moon had this kind of MV than this mediocre song..it’s so 90s. And another thing, she should tone down with the belting thingy cause it’s drowning the song’s pace sometimes. I know she has the pipes for it but she shouldn’t stamp that bravado to every song she makes. Can’t she sing a decent song without hollering to the whole world that she’s a better belter than Christina Aguilera or Mariah Carey? just saying..

Firstly, Mick the song was created for a TV show, so the objectives will differ. Secondly, she sang it the way the producer wanted her to sing it. In this regard, if you have issues send your complaints to the producer. Thirdly, either you are a hater or ignorance must be in style where you live, cause she has done other material that does not involve that “belting thingy.”

Before you open your mouth or attempt a thought, make sure you have a mind to back up all the things you say Mr. Producer – just saying…

Mickey, stop making remarks on things you have no idea how it works. You think Charice would just do the “belting thingy” because that’s how she wants it? Let me simplify this to you – You work, you have a boss, you do what he tells you to do. That’s how it works dude. So please…for your sanity sake, don’t make any more ignorant comments like that especially about Charice because you will never get away with it without hearing back from us, Charice’s diehard fans, just saying…

Such a surprise for the Chasters indeed. Charice is, as always, so adorable. That voice is giving us chills at all times.
Knowing Charice, this MV may appear less satisfying than what we would have expected from such a great Song and Singer. But since Far As The Sky is originally made as the Theme Song for Bull Doctor (A Japanese Drama), which started just last Wednesday July 6, 2011in Japan, there is probably some limitations on the making of a Music Video. As Warner Music Japan had announced, this MV is just a little Gift for Charice’s fans for The “Tanabata Day” which is celebrated every 7th of July in Japan. And WMJ has pointed out that this MV is limited for a 24 hour airing only (7/7 3pm-7/8 3pm Japan time).
We don’t know what comes next but Charice has always been well taken cared of in Japan so we couldn’t just expect for less. For sure something bigger will come.

Charice dedicated this song to Japan from the Earthquake and Tsunami disaster.
This song is all Japanese, written and produced by well-known people. The producer of the drama wanted to work with Charice after he heard her songs.

Mr.Toda (the producer) says,
・It was shocking when I first heard Charice’s songs. I was so fascinated by her voice which is so stretching and powerful, and the experience got me reaching her and asking for a song. I have this strong confidence and conviction of my heart that a message of the humanism this drama will spin, and emotions Charice will bring to this drama will make a fantastic collaboration.

This mv is simple but great. I really love both the song and the video. Another wonderful song in her name. Charice.
