The Academy Award winning actress has decided to name her son after a letter in the Hebrew alphabet!

After almost a month of waiting, Natalie Portman and her fiance Benjamin Millepied have let the news slip about what they named their baby boy, who was born in mid-June.

According to the Israeli TV show Good Evening with Guy Pines (remember, Natalie was born in Israel!), Natalie and Benjamin have chose the name Aleph for their son!

Aleph, also spelt Alef, is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It has been said that the letter represents the “oneness of God” and is related to the element of Air.

Natalie and Benjamin declined to comment on the name, but a source has confirmed it to People.

Now that we know baby Millepied’s name, we’re simply waiting for those first baby photos!

What a stupid name. I bet when he grows up he beats her to death with a hammer and then throws a party.

i like the name. me myself being jewish and practicing the same things as natalie think its a very beautiful name. most jews get their name for meaning not how it sounds. i mean, did you expect her to call him frank?

yovel: So you dated a man who was in a relationship and living with his girlfriend?

So you are having premarital sex?

So you got engaged when you found out you were pregnant?

Natalie calls herself Jewish but she isnt living as the Jewish ppl I know do.

Not necessarily a name I would choose but maybe it has a special meaning for them…They have to live with the choice not us…and who are we to criticize anyway?

It reminds me of Adolf, and that isn’t a good name at all. Alef also sounds like Olef, a name that sounds like it belongs to a low IQ lumberjack from Norway.

Is Millepied Jewish? I was really hoping Natalie would have a more traditional approach to everything, rather than having some guy’s baby and just being engaged to him, and having movies that support the immature idea of having “Friends with Benefits.” She’s really not upholding the cultural values, but then again, Millepied is a social climber and is probably looking forward to sharing Natalie’s money.
