Justin and Selena, both born to teenage parents and no longer wearing their purity rings, are getting closer and closer — and friends and family are concerned an accidental pregnancy could destroy their incredibly promising careers.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have become the hottest young couple in Hollywood and, like many teenage couples, they are getting a talking to about one of the most important things in their relationship — safe sex! An insider tells Star, “Justin’s been told straight up that is he’s having sex, he had better use protection.” Pretty smart advice!
“Everyone knows their intentions are good, but they also know how easy it is to get worked up when you’re young and in love,” says the insider. “It would only take a few moments of weakness to cause what could be a lifetime of regret.”
Fueling this talk, delivered by Justin’s mom Pattie, were the intimate photos of the pair in Hawaii. “Everyone started whispering they were probably having sex [after seeing the photos],” says the insider. As both Justin and Selena were born to teenage parents, the topic of teen pregnancy hits even closer to home for their families.
“The most important thing is that Justin and Selena don’t throw away their amazing futures because they were careless and foolish,” says the insider.

It’s funny because so many teenagers have sex yet since they are put in the spotlight they are the ones being criticized. It just doesn’t seem fair to them. So what! They’re teenagers. I mean, as long as they’re being safe, then I don’t think it’s a huge issue. They both seem like pretty smart people. I don’t think they would throw everything away like that so easily.
