Prince William and Kate arrived in Yellowknife, the capital of northern Canada’s Northwest Territories Monday night, following a very active day—and long flight–from Prince Edward Island.
Kate, wearing a navy rain coat, and William, in a matching navy suit, arrived in a Canadian government jet, and were met by a couple hundred well-wishers, as well as politicians, including Northwest Territories Premier Floyd Roland and Yellowknife Mayor Gordon Van Tighem. (See the video below!)
The newlyweds are slated to make their first public appearance in Yellowknife at 11:40 a.m. MT (1:40 a.m. EST) at the city’s Somba K’e Civic Plaza.
According to the a spokesperson for the Northwest Territories government, between 3,000 and 5,000 people are expected at the morning festivities, which will include aboriginal dancing and a street hockey game involving local youth.
